WELCOME TO POST 245 FORREST LODGE

Honoring the Past, Serving the Present, Building the Future
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

IN-COUNTRY

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.

Mission Statement

"Veterans First: My mission as the leaders of VFW Post 245 is to prioritize the well-being and needs of our veterans above all else. I am committed to honoring the sacrifices of our veterans, supporting our active-duty service members, and strengthening the bonds within our community. My primary focus is on recruiting and family participation, all with the goal of putting veterans first.

Recruiting:
I are dedicated to expanding our membership base by reaching out to eligible veterans and their families, providing them with the benefits of VFW membership, and welcoming them into our Post with open arms. Through effective recruitment strategies, I aim to ensure that no eligible veteran in our community is left without the support and camaraderie of the VFW.

Family Participation:
Recognizing the invaluable role that families play in the lives of our veterans and service members, I strive to actively involve them in the activities and initiatives of our Post. I am dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where families feel a sense of belonging and can contribute to our mission. By promoting family participation, I aim to strengthen the bonds between our members, their loved ones, and the larger community.

With a steadfast commitment to veterans first, I, as Commander of VFW Post 245, pledge to uphold these principles and work tirelessly to ensure that our Post serves as a beacon of support, gratitude, and camaraderie for veterans, service members, and their families. Together, we will continue to honor the legacy of those who have served our nation and build a brighter future for our community."
